We kick-off with Football and in the FIFA World Cup – Mexico caused another upset in the tournament when they defeated 1998 World Champions France 2-nil in Polokwane.
The Mexicans scored through Manchester United-bound Javier Hernandez and a penalty from 37-year old Cauauhtemoc Blanco.
The win now puts Mexico in the driving seat alongside Uruguay in Group A to qualify for the next round.
Elsewhere in Group B – in Johnnesburg, Argentina thrashed South Korea 4-1 to secure a Round of 16 spot – with Gonzalo Higuain scoring a hat-trick;
and in another Group B tie – Greece had to comeback from a goal down to record their first win in World Cup history when they beat 10-men Nigeria 2-1 in Bloemfontein.

Looking ahead this evening at 7:30pm – Group D gets back to action where Germany will take on Serbia at Port Elisabeth.
At 10pm The United States of Amercia will play Slovenia in a Group C encounter at Ellis Park in Johnnesburg.
And at 2:30am – another Group C tie sees England back in acton – this time against North-African giants Algeria in Cape Town.

Finally in Basketball – The Los Angeles Lakers have won the NBA Finals defeating the Boston Celtics 83 to 79 in Game 7 at the Staples Centre.
Kobe Bryant was once again leading the pack with 28-points despite the Lakers down by 9 points at the end of the first quarter.
The Lakers see out the series 4-3 and clinch their 17th Championship title.
