Football and in on-going saga of the sale of Liverpool – Royal Bank of Scotland has secured an injunction preventing Tom Hicks and George Gillett from removing Martin Broughton.
It also prevents the Amercian pairing from dismissing any other Liverpool board members ahead of Tuesday's court case.

Meanwhile, New England Sports Venture is confident of seeing off possible rival bidder Peter Lim of Singapore.

However Lim will only be able to buy the club if current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett win the court case to prevent the board's agreed £300million sale to NESV.

Back on the pitch and in an International Friendly last night – Brazil tunred on the style to beat the Ukraine
2-0.

The Brazilians now make it three wins out of three under new coach Mano Menezes with goals coming from Dani Alves and Alexandre Pato at Pride Park.

Closer to home in the S-League last night – Tampines Rovers leap-frogged Home United into second-spot on goal difference with a 2-1 win over Geylang United.

Aleksander Duric’s winning goal ten minutes from time places the Rovers just a point away from current leaders Etoile FC.

More S-League action later this evening as Albirex Niigata will host the Young Lions at the Jurong East Stadium.

That tie will kick-off at 7:45pm.

And finally in Motor-racing – Jenson Button concedes his world championship bid will become an "impossible" task if McLaren do not deliver a quicker car.

Button slipped 31 points behind championship leader Mark Webber after finishing fourth at Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.
