We race off with Formula One first and in the aftermath of the Japanese Grand Prix – Sebastian Vettel has said that he has fallen in love with the Suzuka circuit after winning there for a second time.

Vettel led home team-mate Mark Webber for a Red Bull 1-2 finish and confessed that it had been an 'incredible day' after he followed up qualifying on pole with victory in the same day.

The German later dedicated his victory to the hard work of his team.

The next Grand Prix takes place in neighbouring South Korea on October 24th.

In Basketball – and over the weekend The Singapore Slingers went down 59-62 against the Philippine Patriots in their first away game of the ASEAN Basketball League regular season.

The Slingers drop to a 1-1 win-loss record after their opening day win over Satria Muda last weekend; The Patriots however remain unbeaten and are now 2 and nothing.

The Slingers will entertain the KL Dragons this Sunday from 4pm.

Finally in a Commonwealth Games update – Jasmine Ser has given the Republic yet another Gold in Shooting.

It was her Second Gold of the Games and it makes the 20-year old the first Singapore athlete to clinch an individual Gold at the 10m Air Rifle Finals.

And not only did Jasmine come out tops, she also erased the Games record to set 501.7 points overtaking the mark of 500.8 points.

A quick look at Singapore’s medal haul and the Republic lie in 9th place with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze.

At the top of the standings – Australia lead with 69 gold, 39 silver and 37 bronze.

India are still in second place with 29 gold, 22 silver, 22 bronze.

And England are third with 26 gold, 45 silver, and 33 bronze.
