We start with UEFA Champions League Football and semi-final action – Bayern Munich have made it through to the finals for the first time since 2001.


The German side saw off Lyon of France 3-nil away in their second-leg tie.

A hat-trick from Croatian Ivica Olic made the tie 4-nil on aggregate.

Louis Van Gaal’s men now march into the finals and will play either Inter Milan or Barcleona in Madrid on the 22nd of May.

And that second semi-final tie between Inter and holders Barcelona will take place at the Nou Camp later tonight with the Italians taking a 3-1 advantage to Spain.

Closer to home – in the AFC Champions League – SAFFC fell on the wrong end of a dramatic first-half turnaround as Suwon Samsung Bluewings came back from a goal down to register a 6-2 victory at home.

The Korean outfit top Group G after their final group game – all thanks to Japan’s Gamba Osaka who could only manage a 1-all draw against HeNan JianYe of China.

The Warriors however finished third ahead of HeNan.

And finally in Golf – Thongchai Jaidee reached another milestone in his career when he became the first player to surpass US$4 million dollars in career earnings on the Asian Tour.

This follows a top-10 finish at the Ballantine's Championship in Korea.

The highly decorated Thai, who holds an unprecedented 12 Asian Tour titles, earned well over $56,000 US dollars last weekend after finishing tied ninth to raise his career tally to a whopping $4,005,888 US dollars.
