Football and in the English Premiership – Tottenham Hot Spurs have secured the chance to play Champions League football with a 1-nil win over rivals Manchester City.
Peter Crouch reacted quickly to nod home the winner in the 82nd minute to send Spurs into Europe’s elite tournament next season.
In the night’s other tie – Stoke City have climbed to 10th in the EPL with a 1-nil away win at Fulham.

In Spanish La Liga – Real Madrid kept pace with leaders Barcelona with a 4-1 demolition of fourth-placed Mallorca away.
With the lost Mallorca now slip to fifth in the league as Seville overtook them on the night thrashing Racing Santander 5-1 away.

Last night in the S-League – Khairul Amri saved Tampines Rovers the blushes with a late winner and overcoming a resilient Balestier Khalsa 3-2 at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
After taking a 2-nil lead at half time – Tampines were stunned as the Tigers clawed their way back to draw 2-all after 70 minutes, before Amri’s winner.
The win takes the Rovers 3 points clear of nearest rivals Etoile FC and more importantly 7 points ahead of Champions SAFFC.
For SAFFC they will hope to close that gap again when play later this evening against Home United at the Clementi Stadium; and in another tie – bottom-side Woodlands Wellington play host to the Young Lions at the Woodlands Stadium.
Both ties will kick-off at 7:45pm.

Finally in Basketball and in the NBA – in the Western Conference semis – The Phoenix Suns taken a 2-nil lead their series winning in Arizona against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Suns eclipsed the Spurs in Game #2 : 110 to 102.
