FRIDAY 7th MAY 2010

Football and with the final weekend of Premiership ties expected to be played this Sunday – Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak has come out in support of under-fire manager Roberto Mancini.

Mubarak has claimed that Mancini will not be sacked and, instead, will be given ''all the tools he needs'' to make the club a success next season.

And in the red-half of Manchester – the Glazer family have put out an unofficial notice to the Red Knights group that Manchester United is not for sale.

This even at £1.5 billion pounds - as first reported.

At home in the S-League – Champions SAFFC dropped two crucial points in their hunt to retain the title when they drew 1-all with Home United.

Playing at the Clementi Stadium – The Warriors drew level through a penalty from Federico Martinez, this after Shahril Ishak put the protectors ahead in the 8th-minute.

In another tie – it was also 1-all between Woodlands Wellington and the Young Lions.

Looking ahead this evening – high-flying Geylang United can share second-spot tonight if they overcome a strong Gombak defence.

That tie between the Eagles and the Bulls will kick-off at 7:30pm.

In Formula One - Mark Webber is eager to leave nothing on the table this weekend as he finally looks to kick start his bid for Formula One glory.

Other than one pole position in Malaysia, where he finished second to Red Bull Racing team-mate Sebastian Vettel, Webber has struggled to make his mark this season.

The F1 heads to Spain this weekend at the Catalunya Circuit with McLaren’s Jenson Button leading the pack in the Driver’s Standings.

Finally in Basketball and in the NBA semis – the Atlanta Hawks slumped to their second defeat away as the Orlando Magic thrashed the Hawks 112 to 98.

The Magic now go on the road with a 2-nil lead in their best-of-seven series in the Eastern Conference.
