Football first – and Avram Grant has resigned as manager of Portsmouth and the Israeli has offers from six clubs around Europe.

Offers include two from the Premier League - but West Ham remain firm favourites for his services.

Elsewhere - Manchester City's record signing Robinho has no wish to return to Eastlands.

Robinho is instead praying that he can continue playing in his Brazilian homeland after the World Cup.

Back home in the S-League last night – Gombak United climbed to fourth on the table with a 3-nil win over Sengkang-Punggol.

The win at the Bull’s Jurong West Stadium was accompanied by first-half goals from Hamqamaal Shah and Agu Casmir, and a late goal from Fazrul Nawaz .

Looking ahead tonight – Balestier Khlasa will play against current holders SAFFC.

With just 2 points separating both teams, a win for either side will help rekindle their dismal season so far.

That tie between the Tigers and Warriors will kick-off at the 7:30pm at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
