We start with Football and in news out of the English Premiership – reports suggests that Wayne Rooney has indicated he has no intention to sign a new contract at Manchester United.
And if widespread reports in the English media are to be believed, then Rooney is set for a sensational departure from Old Trafford.
The reports also reveal that his decision is based on frustration with Sir Alex Ferguson, and this new turn of events will leave fans in the Theatre of Dreams shell-shocked.

Back on the pitch Liverpool were left shell-shocked in the the 214th Merseyside Derby against Everton at Goodsion Park.
Despite the Red’s new owners present – Liverpool’s miserable season continued as Everton’s Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta condemned their neighbours to a 2-0 defeat leaving them in 19th place.
However Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson leapt to the defence of his struggling players, dismissing crisis talk already.
And in another tie Manchester City defeated Blackpool 3-2 to go ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United into second-place.

In key matches around Europe – Lazio went back to the top of the Serie A with a 2-0 away win at Bari; and Inter Milan kept pace with the leaders with 1-0 away win at Cagliari.
In the La-Liga – Seville crashed to ther second defeat of the season away at Sporting Gijon – losing 2-0; and Atheltic Bilbao managed a 2-1 win over bottom-placed Real Zaragoza.

Finally in Basketball – The Singapore Slingers beat the visiting KL Dragons 74-61 in the Asean Basketball League yesterday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
New Filipino import Leo Avenido was undoubtedly the hero as he repeated his 20-point scoring feat in the opening game against Satria Muda, including five three-pointers and eight rebounds.
With the win The Slingers improve their win-loss record to 2 and 1 while the Dragons are still without a win three games into this second ASEAN Basketball League season.
The Dragons will host the Slingers next in KL this Saturday.
