Football first and in the English Premiership – Arsenal moved up to joint second on the table with a 3-0 away win at 10-man Manchester City.
Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner were on target for the Gunners who easily defeated City.
In earlier ties – Javier Hernandez struck twice to give Manchester United a 2-1 win at Stoke City; and Liverpool also won by the same scoreline at home against Blackburn Rovers.

Elsewhere around Europe – Lazio maintained their lead at the top of the Serie A with a 2-1 win over Cagliari; and Inter Milan were held to a 1-all draw at home against Sampdoria.
In Spain – Villarreal moved back to within a point of La Liga leaders Real Madrid after an impressive 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid; and Sevilla edged Athletic Bilbao 4-3 in a thrilling clash.

Over to Formula One – in the aftermath of the inaugural Korean Grand Prix – Fernando Alonso said it had been one of the best results of the year for Ferrari right after he won.
The Spaniard took the lead of the divers' standings thanks to the retirements of both Red Bull drivers.
The F1 next heads to Brazil on the 7th of November.

Finally in Basketball – in the ABL – The Singapore Slingers fell 74-81 to the KL Dragons for their second away loss in as many games over the weekend.
The Slingers now have a 2-and-2 win-loss record while the Dragons are 1-and-3.
The Slingers will return to their home court to entertain the Thailand Slammers on Sunday, October 31st.
