A penalty from former Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the fifth minute was enough to decide a game which Milan ended with 10 men after Ignazio Abate was sent off.

And in the La-Liga – Gonzalo Higuain struck a late winner as Real Madrid returned to the top of the Primera Division with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sporting Gijon.

And finally in Baskteball – in the ABL Singapore slumpped to its first home defeat yesterday at the hands of the Philippine Patriots.

Playing to packed Indoor Stadium – the Slingers took control of the first two-quarters but let-slip in the next two and after double overtime lost 87-85.

Despite the loss Leo Avenido’s scoring of 36-points eclipsed the Slingers’ all-time ABL scoring record of 32, set by Michael LeBlanc last season.

However Avenido who look extremely tired after the game said the team should have kept pace with a very strong Philippine-team.

Avenido and the rest of the team now have a 4-and-4 record and have slipped to fourth in the league.

The Slingers play against the Brunei Barracudas next on the 23rd of Novemeber at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
