SPORTS 101119

We start with Football and Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow with news that Steven Gerrard will be out for up to four weeks.

The Liverpool captain suffered a hamstring injury on England duty which they eventually lost 2-1 to the French.

Gerrard's injury comes as the latest setback in what has been a dismal season for Roy Hodgson's Reds, who play at home against West Ham United tomorrow night.

In other key Premiership ties this weekend – Arsenal will host Tottenham Hot Spurs in a London derby; Bolton Wanderers will take on Newcastle United; Manchester United will play Wigan Athletic; and Chelsea play away at Birmingham City.

Next in the aftermath of the 2010 Formula One season – Fernando Alonso is refusing to place blame after losing the world title - insisting he is more in love with Ferrari than ever.

Although the Spaniard was the favourite to win the title with an eight-point advantage going into the final race, a botched pit stop strategy saw him fall down the order where he was stuck behind traffic.

As a result of not being able to find a way past Renault's Vitaly Petrov, the double world champion could only manage seventh place while Sebastian Vettel went on to win the grand prix and the drivers' championship title.
