Kicking off with Football and in the English Carling Cup fifth-round – West Ham United have beaten defending champions Manchester United 4-0 at Upton Park.

A brace from Amercian Jonathan Spector and another two goals from Carlton Cole on either side of the half saw the Hammers progress into the semi-finals.

In another fifth-round tie – Arsenal marched on as well beating Wigan Athletic 2-0 at the Emirates.

Two more fifth-round ties to be played later tonight – Birmingham City play Aston Villa at St Andrews; and Ipswich Town will take on West Bromwich Albion at Portman Road.

Closer to home – Singapore’s campaign in the The AFF Suzuki Cup kicks-off tomorrow in Hanoi and The Lions have a fabulous record in the tournament under coach 'Raddy' Avramovic.

Avramovic has led Singapore to back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2007 with first Indonesia and then Thailand the victims in the final.

Singapore will kick-off against the Philippines and will be bidding for a record fourth title alongside rivals Thailand.

Finally in Motor-racing – FIA's official entry list for the 2011 Formula One season has revealed six teams are still to confirm their full driver line-ups.

The list which was published yesterday confirms for the first time that Lotus - now renamed Team Lotus - will retain current drivers Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen.

Lotus joins Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes in naming an unchanged driver pairing, while Sauber were the only other team to name both drivers - with F1 new boy Sergio Perez confirmed alongside Kamui Kobayashi.

The 2011 Formaula One season flags off in Bahrain on the 11th of March.
