Football and we start with the Europa League round of 32 second-leg results – and Dirk Kuyt’s goal 4 minutes from time have sent Liverpool through into the next round.

The Reds defeated Sparta Prague 1-0 on aggregate and will next face Lech Poznan of Poland on the 10th of March.

Elsewhere – Manchester City also advanced with a 3-0 win over Greek-side aris Salonika with Edwin Dzeko scoring a brace.

Also making into the Round-of-16 were PSV Eindhoven who defeated Lille of France 3-1 to go through 5-3 on aggregate; Bayer Leverkusen defeated the Ukraine’s Metalist Kharkiv 2-0 on the night, 6-0 on aggregate and have set up a clash with Villarreal who hit back from a goal down to beat Napoli 2-1 in Spain.

Back home in the S-League – Home United scored a 3-0 win at the Bishan Stadium last night against Gombak United.

Home’s first goal came from Sufian Anuar in the first half and were later awarded two penalties in the second half to clinch all 3-points.

Later this evening more S-League action as Champions Etoile FC will take on Balestier Khlasa.

This exciting tie will kick-off at 7:30pm at the Jalan Besdar Stadium.

Finally in Tennis – Roger Federer eased into the semi-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Championships with a 6-3 6-4 win over Sergiy Stakhovsky.

Federer will face unseeded Richard Gasquet in the semi-finals.

Gasquet came from behind to clinch his all-French encounter with Gilles Simon 5-7 6-2 6-4 in a match lasting a little over two hours.
