Football next and in the English Premiership – Liverpool earned a crucial 1-0 home win against Fulham.
A John Pantsil own-goal in the 52nd minute gave Kenny Dalglish’s side back-to-back victories and pushed the Red’s up to 7th on the table.
In Carling Cup semi-final second-leg action – Birmingham City are through to the final after they defeated West Ham United 3-1 in extra-time, 4-3 on aggregate.
City will meet Arsenal in the final at Wembley on Sunday the 27th of February.
Elsewhere in Europe – AC Milan have progressed to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia after they handed Sampdoria a 2-1 defeat at home; and Inter Milan needed penalties to see off Napoli after a 0-0 scoreline.
In Spain’s Copa del Rey – Barcelona have placed one-foot into the finals of the tournament with a 5-0 thrashing of Almeria in their first-leg semi-final encounter.
And Real Madrid take a 1-0 advantage to the Bernabau after they managed to beat Seville away.

Finally in Asean Baskteball – The Singapore Slingers will play Game 2 of their semi-final play-off at the Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.
The Slingers are looking to tie the series after a heart-breaking overtime defeat by Thailand Chang Slammers last weekend in Bangkok.
