SPORTS 100421

UEFA Champions League Football – Inter Milan came from a goal down to turn around their first-leg semi-final tie against Barcelona and win 3-1.

Pedro gave the holders an early away goal, but then Wesley Sneijder and Maicon hit back, before Diego Milito headed them a third.

Jose Mourinho’s men travel to Spain in a week’s time for the second-leg.

Back home in the S-League – high-flyers Etoile FC were held by bottom-side Albirex Niigata to a goalless draw last night.

Playing at the Jurong East Stadium – the nil-nil scoreline meant the French-outfit remain third on the table.

And later this evening – Gombak United and Home United lock-horns when they play at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

A win for either side and it will take them up into second-place for the time-being.

That tie will kick-off at 7:30pm.

Finally the Formula One world encamped in Shanghai is in limbo given the disruption to air travel caused by the ash cloud over Europe.

For many drivers, such as Chinese Grand Prix winner Jenson Button and Mercedes' Nico Rosberg who was third, a holiday now beckons.

Button’s staying in Asia, Rosberg will be in Thailand, Hamilton will fly off to South Africa, and Mark Webber has returned to his native Australia.

However the troubles are now with the teams and not the drivers as they face the operational headache of trying to return their cars and equipment back home as the freight aircraft required are grounded in Europe.
