Football and in UEFA’s Europa League first-leg semi-final ties – Athletico Madrid have taken a slender advantage into the second-leg when they defeated Liverpool by a solitary goal.
Playing at the Estadio Vincente Calderon – Diego Forlan’s 9th-minute strike was enough to separate the sides by the end of the 90.
In the other semi-final clash between Germany’s Hambug and Fulham it ended goalless between both clubs.
The return legs of these two semis will be played in a week’s time.

And over at the Toa Payoh Stadium – Balestier Khalsa managed a 1-nil win over Sengkang Punggol.
A first-half goal from K. Vikraman moved the Tigers up to sixth in the table.
Looking ahead tonight – it’s the battle between third and fourth place; as holders SAFFC will take on current Singapore League Cup winners Etoile FC.
A win for either side will put pressure on current leaders Tampines Rovers.
That tie will kick-off at 7:30pm at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
