Polesitter Mark Webber finished third after losing the lead in a clash with Red Bull partner Sebastian Vettel, who retired in the incident.
Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg were fourth and fifth for Mercedes GP.

In Football – and in International Friendlies – England needed two late own goals from Japan defenders Marcus Tanaka and Yuji Nakazawa to defeat their opponents 2-1 in their final World Cup warm-up match in Austria.
Tanaka however stunned England by giving the Japanese a seventh-minute lead.
In other ties – Belarus shocked South Korea 1-nil; Paraguay came back from two goals down to draw 2-all with The Ivory Coast; Nigeria could only draw 1-all with Columbia; William Gallas came to France’s rescue as they drew 1-all with Tunisia; and Chile defeated The Northern Ireland 1-nil.

Back home in the RHB Singapore Cup – Tampines Rovers defeated Woodlands Wellington 2-1 in extra-time to move into the final 8.
Rover’s Alif Shafaein scored the winner in the 112th minute at the Tampines Stadium.
Tampines will next play Balestier Khalsa in the Quarter-finals starting in late September.
Looking ahead tonight – in the final preliminary round tie – Beijing Guoan will play against Kitchee FC of Hong Kong.
That tie will kick-off at 7:45pm at the Yishun Stadium.

Finally in Tennis and in the French Open – Robin Soderling took care of Croatia's Marin Cilic 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 to advance into the last-8; while Roger Federer stomped over his good friend Stanislas Wawrinka 6-3, 7-6, 6-2.
Both Soderling and Federer will stage a rematch of the 2009 final when they meet in Tuesday’s quarter-final.
And in Ladies action second-seed Venus Williams was ousted from the competition when she lost to Nadia Petrova 6-4, 6-3.
Petrova will next play her Russian counterpart Elena Dementieva in the quarters.
