First up – Football and in the FIFA World Cup in South Africa – Germany outclassed Australia 4-nil in a Group D tie.
The 3-time World Champions scored through Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Thomas Muller and Cacau.
The game also saw the sending off of Australia’s Tim Cahill in the second-half.
In an earlier Group D encounter Ghana managed a 1-nil win over Serbia who were also down to 10-men.
Asamoah Gyan’s penalty five minutes from time decided the tie.
Over in Group C – Algeria who also played with 10-men after the sending off of Abdelkader Ghezzal for a second bookable offence, were beaten 1-nil by Slovenia.
Robert Koren scored the only goal of the game, ensuring Slovenia go top of Group C ahead of the United States and England.

More World Cup action this evening – as Group E gets underway with Holland taking on Denmark in Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium from 7:30pm.
At 10pm – Japan will face Africa’s Cameroon; and at 2:30am in Group F – reigning champions Italy face Paraguay in Cape Town.

In Formula One – Lewis Hamilton has won the Canadian Grand Prix – placing him back on top of the Formula One standings for the first time in 18 months.
Back-to-back victories for the McLaren star means he now holds a three-point cushion over team-mate Jenson Button as McLaren finished one-two for the second consecutive race.
Fernando Alonso claimed third, with Sebastian Vettel fourth and Mark Webber fifth; the trio are now 15, 19 and six points behind Hamilton respectively.
The next race in the F1 calender takes place in Valencia on the weekend of the 25th to the 27th of June.

Finally in Basketball and in the NBA Finals – the Boston celtics are just a win away from the title after they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 to make it 3-2 in the series.
Even though Laker’s Kobe Bryant scored a massive 38 points, The Celtics still managed a 92 to 86 win over their opponenets.
The LA Lakers now need to tie Game 6 at 3-all and that’s next early Wednesday morning Singapore time in Los Angeles.
