We start with Football and in the Champions League Group stage – Matchday 1 – and in Group H – Arsenal kicked-off their campaign in blistering form with a 6-0 trouncing of Portuguese-side Braga; and Shakhtar Donetsk of the Ukraine defeated Partizan Belgrade 1-0.
In Group F Chelsea got off to a flying start as well winning 4-1 away at Slovakia’s Zilina; and Marseille of France were beaten 1-0 at home by Spartak Moscow.
Elsewhere in Group G – Real Madrid came away 2-0 winners against Aajx Amsterdam at the Bernabau; and AC Milan drew beat Auxerre of France 2-0.
And in Group E – German Champions Beryern Munich defeated Italy’s Roma 2-0; and Romania’s CFR Cluj managed a 2-1 win over Swiss-side Basel.

Back home in the S-League – Albirex Niigata grabbed three vital points when they came away 1-0 winners over Sengkang-Punggol at the Jalan Besar Stadium last night.
A 37th minute strike from Mitsuki Ichihara sealed victory for the Swans and lifted them from the bottom-two.
More action tonight – this time for supremacy at the top as Etoile FC will take on Balestier Khlasa.
A win for the French-side and it will clearly put them on top of the league.
The tie will kick-off at 7:45pm at the Queenstown Stadium.

Finally in Tennis – new US Open champion Rafael Nadal has turned his attention to winning the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
The world number one completed the career Grand Slam with his victory over Novak Djokovic in New York earlier this week.
And in a recent press conference Nadal said he will next target success at the O2 Arena in London for the the season-ending tournament which runs from November 21st-28th.

Hi, for your info the match has been postponed to tomorrow, Friday 17th September. For the first time this season, Queenstown Stadium will host the live game.
