We tee-off with Golf and Graeme McDowell won the Ryder Cup for Europe after a Celtic Manor classic that crowned captain Colin Montgomerie's golfing career.

US Open champion McDowell's 3&1 victory over Hunter Mahan gave Europe a dramatic 14.5 to 13.5 triumph over the United States to regain the trophy.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson – world number one and two players finally found their form to claim emphatic victories over Francesco Molinari and Peter Hanson, respectively.

However their victories were not enough for the defending champions as the European team now has held the upper hand, winning 6 out of the last 8 Ryder Cups including 4 of the last 5.

Football and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and captain Carlos Tevez were reportedly involved in a heated bust-up at half time in their side's 2-1 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Tevez is unhappy with the high-flying side's negative tactics this season.

Elsewhere with the international break this weekend – Kevin Davies has admitted he thought he was the subject of a prank call when the Bolton striker was given his belated England call yesterday.

The 33-year-old was named in Fabio Capello's squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley next Tuesday.

Finally back on the pitch and back home in the S-League – the SAFFC Warriors were handed a 2-1 defeat by Albirex Niigata last night.

Playing at home at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium – the loss puts a dent in the Warriors’ chance to grab fourth-spot.

And in another shock result of the evening The Young Lions lost 1-0 to Sengkang-Punggol at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

More Singapore Cup action this evening as South Melbourne take on Thailand’s Bangkok Glass in first-leg Quarter-final tie.

The match will kick-off at 7:45pm at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
