Football and it’s Champions League Matchday 5 results – in Group H Arsenal suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Braga at the Estadio Municipal.

The Gunners were denied a penalty by Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai before Braga scored two late breakaway goals from Brazilian striker Matheus.

The loss leaves Arsene Wenger's men not yet assured of their place in the last 16.

Elsewhere in Group H – Shakrtar Donetsk defeated Partizan Belgrade 3-0 away to assure progression to the next stage.

In other ties – in Group G – AC Milan booked their place in the last 16 with a 2-0 away win at Auxerre of France; and group leaders Real Madrid thumped Ajax Amsetrdam 4-0.

In Group F – Marseille cruised into the next round with a 3-0 away win at Spartak Moscow; and Chelsea won their group defeating Slovakia’s MSK Zilina 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

And finally in Group E – captain Francesco Totti capped a magnificent comeback with a late penalty as the Italians stunned already-qualified Bayern Munich 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico; and FC Basel beat CFR Cluj 1-0 to keep their slim hopes of qualification alive.

Finally in Basketball and in the ABL – The Singapore Slingers moved into third place in the league with a 74 to 70 win over the Brunei Barracudas last night.

The Barracudas turned the ball over 16 times in the entire game including 8 in the forth quarter alone – in contrast to the Slingers who only had 8 in the entire game.

Marcus Skinner led the Slingers scoring 29 points and grabbed 12 boards.

However Leonidez Avenido wasn’t quite himself, but was still able to contribute 12 points and 7 rebounds to the Slingers’ must needed victory.

Singapore next travel to Bangkok to face current league leaders – The Chang Thailand Slammers on the 4th of December.
