We kick-off with Football and Blackpool moved back into the top half of the Premiership with a 2-1 win over nine-man West Brom at Bloomfield Road.
West Brom’s Pablo Ibanez and Gonzalo Jara were dismissed in the first half paving the way for a Blackpool victory.
Off the pitch news – and after being underwhelmed by recent World Cups, Sir Alex Ferguson believes the UEFA Champions League is a better competition.
The Scot compared the quality of the competition in the different stages and said it was a natural thing.
Ferguson’s United will take on Turkey’s Bursaspor in Matchday 4 later tonight and a win will place them firmly in control of Group C.

In Golf – in the aftemath of Lee Westwood claiming the World number spot – Westwood insists Tiger Woods should not be written off after deposing him.
Westwood was confirmed as Europe's first number one since Nick Faldo in 1994 after Martin Kaymer failed to produce the top-two finish he needed in the Andalucia Masters to claim top spot himself.
But Woods, Kaymer and Phil Mickelson could all make Westwood's reign at the top a matter of days rather than weeks at this week's WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, where all four players are in action.

Finally in Motor-racing – Jerome d'Ambrosio is on the verge of securing a 2011 race-seat with Virgin Racing.
D'Ambrosio joined Virgin Racing ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, taking part in Friday practice sessions, allowing the team to evaluate the 25-year-old Belgian.
However, speed is clearly not the only criteria in landing a Virgin race seat as Boullier, who is in charge of the Renault F1 team, revealed that sponsorship deals are also playing a role.
