Kicking off with Football and Champions League Matchday 4 results – Chelsea have advanced into the next stage with a second-half demolition of Spartak Moscow at Stamford Bridge.
A 4-1 victory – which saw Branislav Ivanovic score a brace puts The Blues firmly on top of Group F.
And also in Group F – Marseille of France trounced MSK Zilina of Slovakia 7-0.
In Group H – Arsenal were handed a 2-1 defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk with Eduardo scoring against his old club; and Portuguese-side Braga saw-off Partizan Belgrade 1-0 away.
Elsewhere in other results – Group E saw Bayern Munich qualifying for the next round by making it four wins out of four with a 4-0 win away at CFR Cluj; and AS Roma also won away this time 3-2 at FC Basel. And over in Group G – Real Madrid and AC Milan played out to a 2-all draw, while Auxerre of France defeated Ajax Amsterdam 2-1.

Next in Motor-racing – with the Brazilian Grand Prix over the weekend – Lewis Hamilton would love nothing more than a straightforward race as he battles for the world title.
With just two Formula One grands prix remaining, at Interlagos this weekend and then in Abu Dhabi a week later, Hamilton's fate is out of his hands.
The Briton is third in the standings and is in desperate need of some assistance as he trails championship leader Fernando Alonso by 21 points and Mark Webber by 10.

Finally in Golf – new world number 1 – Lee Westwood knows he can ill afford to rest on his laurels.
He is battling against injury and a challenge from his rivals to hold onto the world number one spot at this week's HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
The Englishman's lingering calf injury will hamper him and he knows it will require all of his strength and ability to ensure he is still holding the number one position come Sunday evening.
