Starting with Football – and in the English Premiership last night – Manchester United managed to hold their city rivals to a goalless draw at the City of Manchester Stadium.
In a game with very little chances – the draw meant both teams still remain in the top 4, but have lost ground on leaders Chelsea who’s 1-0 win over Fulham now takes them 4-points ahead of nearest rival Manchester United.
Elsewhere around the Premiership – Newcastle were beaten 2-1 by Balckburn Rovers at home; West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion drew 2-all; Aston Villa defeated Blackpool 3-2; Liverpool were held to a 1-all draw at Wigan Athletic; Everton escaped with a 1-all draw against Bolton Wanderers; and Arsenal went back to winning ways beating Wolves 2-0 away.

Elsewhere in Europe – In the Italian Serie A – AC Milan went top of the league with a 3-1 win over Palermo; after overnight leaders Lazio were beaten 1-0 by Cesena; Inter Milan drew 1-all at Lecce and AS Roma continued their winning streak with a 3-2 win over Fiorentina.
And in Spain in the Copa del Rey – Real Madrid managed to defeat Murcia 5-1; Seville trounced Real Union 6-1 and 10-man Atletico Madrid drew 1-all non-La-Liga side Universidad Las Palmas.

Finally in Basketball – and in the ABL – The Singapore Slingers managed their first win on the road beating the Brunei Barracudas 81 to 74 last night in the nation’s capital.
And despite Brunei’s Chris Commons having a massive 37-point game – The Slingers pushed hard for the win that now takes them to 4 and 3.
The Slingers can improve on that record in the league when they host the current Champions The Philippine Patriots this Sunday.
Tip off is at 4pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
